The Programs section in HopeWorks defines how ministry work is organized across countries and regions. Programs connect products, partners, and ministry strategies so that planning, reporting, and reach tracking remain consistent across the organization.
This section includes three related components:
Programs
Program Types
Geography
These elements work together to define where ministry work takes place, which products are used, and how programs are structured across different regions.
A Program represents a country-specific implementation of a Program Type. Programs define how ministry activity is organized within a country and determine which products and partners are authorized to operate within that program.
Programs are used to:
Organize ministry work within a specific country
Authorize partners to participate in a program
Define which products can be used in that program
Support planning and reporting across regions
Each program includes a Product Authorizations section that lists the products approved for use within the program.
Users with the appropriate permissions can:
View products authorized for the program
Add products to the program
Remove products from the program
View product details
Authorized products appear in alphabetical order, and existing selections cannot be added more than once.

Programs also include an Authorized Partners section that identifies the partners approved to operate within the program.
Users with the appropriate permissions can:

Add partners to the program
Remove partners from the program
Partner selections are limited to active partners within the selected country.

A Program Type defines the structure used to create programs.
Program Types include:
Product types associated with the program
Reach rules used for reporting
Details about the intended use of each product
Expected outcomes associated with the program
Programs created in different countries follow the structure defined by their Program Type. This helps ensure programs are implemented and reported consistently across regions.
Program Types include a Reach Rules section where authorized users can define how reach is calculated for products associated with the program.
Reach Rules help ensure that reach is measured consistently across programs and regions.

The Geography section organizes programs across different areas of the world. These structures support consistent planning, coordination, and reporting across regions.
The Geography section includes three levels:
A Country represents the national context in which programs operate.
Country records display:
Programs authorized for that country
Warehouses associated with the country
A Region groups multiple countries and supports regional planning and reporting.
Region records display:
Accounting codes
Operations Coordinator
Region Director
A Geographic Area represents a broad grouping used to organize global ministry activity.
